Introduction.
Painting images is part of my life as far as I can remember. I'd nearly studied fine arts; finally my mother succeed to convince me to accept a compromise. What do you think you gonna live on, sweatheart?
I went for interior architecture instead of fine arts, added industrial design later. Anyway at an university of art and design with a strong Bauhaus tradition and a clear focus on craftsmanship of fine arts. Two years of fundamentals.
Painting, Sculpting, Anatomy...
Then the new digital media found their way into tradditional art and design. For me, it mainly was 3D computer graphics. I started with AutoCAD (what else, if you're studying interior architecture?) and 3D Studio, later then Alias Studio and Power Animator on SGI. Finally Maya, it was 1999. I made my money with architectural visualization for a while, then I ended up in automotive industry. I'm still there.
My role has changed the recent years. There are people who are handling rendering a lot better than I could do. Thats perfectly fine; I'm taking care to backup these guys. So I finally entered the golden state to practice art or design just for fun.
Its a great sensation to hold a paintbrush in my fingers again, after such a long time.
